Oversized, delicate and unusual items
Specialty-item movers who plan the details.
A piano, heirloom, safe, artwork, or oversized piece needs more than a truck. We review the item, its condition, the route through each property, and the protection it may require.
Item-specific service depends on crew availability, equipment, access, and a written scope.
Start with the object and the route
The item is only half the puzzle.
Its dimensions and weight matter, but so do the doorway, staircase, elevator, gate, driveway, and place it must land. A 90-degree turn or narrow stair landing can change the plan completely. Existing condition, loose components, and delicate finishes also affect how the item should be prepared.
Send clear photographs and measurements before booking. We can review whether the move fits the available crew and equipment, what protection or disassembly is appropriate, and which tasks require an outside specialist. No hoisting, rigging, crating, or technical installation is assumed in a standard quote.

Items we can review
Different objects need different moving plans.
These examples are not a promise that every piece or route can be handled. Give us the specifics so the team can determine the available service.
Pianos and organs
Instrument type, dimensions, stairs, turns, and pickup and delivery conditions determine whether a suitable move can be planned.
Antiques and heirlooms
Share photos, condition concerns, fragile details, and any parts that need to be removed or protected.
Large furniture and artwork
Measure the item and route, including doors, corridors, lifts, and stair landings. Identify glass, stone, or delicate finishes.
Safes and heavy pieces
Provide the exact weight, dimensions, stairs, floor conditions, and access photos before requesting a quote. Availability is item-specific.
Hot tubs and outdoor items
Include dimensions, weight, gate width, terrain, utility-disconnection status, and the path to the truck.
Fitness and game equipment
Tell us the make, model, dimensions, weight, disassembly instructions, and destination placement.

What to include in your request
Better details lead to a better handling plan.
- Item type, brand or model, dimensions, and verified weight.
- Photos of every side and any damage or delicate feature.
- Pickup and delivery addresses, floors, and preferred date.
- Door, hallway, elevator, stair, gate, and turning measurements.
- Parking, carrying distance, ground conditions, and loading access.
- Whether the item is disassembled, packed, or disconnected.
- Where the item must be placed at the destination.
If measurements are uncertain, say so. The team may request more information or an on-site review before confirming that the move is feasible.
Razorback crews at work
Careful handling is visible in the details.
These are real crew photos showing protected carrying, loading, and transport preparation. The treatment of your item is specified in its own moving plan.

From first photo to final placement
Four checks before the move is booked.
Identify the item
Confirm construction, condition, dimensions, weight, and removable components.
Measure the route
Review stairs, turns, lifts, gates, parking, and carrying distance at both sites.
Define the scope
Discuss protection, equipment, crew, transport, disassembly, and any exclusions.
Confirm placement
Plan the destination space and agree on the final position before moving day.
Know the boundaries
Specialized work should be explicit.
Some jobs involve installers, electricians, plumbers, piano technicians, art handlers, riggers, or crate builders. If your item needs one, coordinate that work separately unless it is expressly included in the written moving scope. Have utilities disconnected safely, digital data backed up, and loose parts secured before the crew arrives.
Tell us about high-value items and review the available coverage terms before booking. We will not assume that an unusual piece can travel safely without its measurements and access information.

Specialty-item moving questions
24 specialty moving FAQs.
Answers describe the planning process; service availability and the final scope depend on your item and location.
What counts as a specialty item?
An item may need a specialty plan because it is unusually heavy, large, delicate, valuable, or difficult to reach. Examples include pianos, antiques, safes, artwork, hot tubs, and oversized furniture.
Can you move my exact item?
Send its make or model, dimensions, weight, photos, and both access routes. The local team can review feasibility and provide a written scope; not every item or route is suitable.
How do I get a specialty-item moving quote?
Use the form with both addresses, item description, photos if requested, preferred date, and access details. We will review the handling requirements before confirming a quote.
Do you move pianos?
Ask about piano moving with the type of piano, approximate size and weight, stairs, turns, and destination access. A piano-specific plan and equipment may be required.
Can you move an antique cabinet or dresser?
Tell us the condition, construction, fragile details, dimensions, and whether doors or drawers are removable. The quoted protection and handling plan should be agreed in advance.
Will you move fine art or framed pieces?
Provide dimensions, materials, glass details, packaging condition, and photos. Specialty packing or crating is a separate scope that must be confirmed.
Can you move a safe?
Safe moving requires exact weight, dimensions, stair information, floor conditions, and a clear path. Feasibility depends on the crew and equipment available for the specific job.
Do you move hot tubs?
Share the tub dimensions and weight, gate and yard access, and whether electrical and plumbing connections are already safely disconnected. Ask for a site-specific review.
Can you move a pool table?
Give the model, dimensions, construction, and access details. Professional leveling, refelting, or specialized disassembly is not assumed to be included.
Do you move exercise machines?
Send the make, model, dimensions, weight, and manufacturer’s moving instructions. Disconnecting electronics and complex assembly should be clarified separately.
Can you move a large sectional sofa?
Measure every section and the complete path through doors, halls, stairs, and elevators. Tell us about detachable legs or connectors and delicate upholstery.
How do you protect delicate finishes?
The available wrapping and protection depend on the item and quote. Flag glass, polished wood, stone, mirrors, loose components, and existing damage during the review.
Is custom crating included?
No. Do not assume a crate is included in a standard moving quote. Ask whether suitable packing or third-party crating can be arranged for your item.
Will you disassemble and reassemble the item?
Only if the exact task is accepted and written into the scope. Provide manufacturer instructions and identify any parts that require a specialist.
What measurements do you need?
Measure the item in its moving configuration and every pinch point: door openings, hallway width, turns, stair landings, elevator interior, gates, and loading route.
What if the item must go up stairs?
Send photos, number of flights, stair width, landing dimensions, and turns. The team will assess whether the item and route are feasible with the available crew and equipment.
Can you move an item through a window or over a balcony?
Do not assume hoisting, lifting through windows, or exterior rigging is available. Those methods require a separate specialist evaluation and may be outside our scope.
Do you use a special truck or equipment?
Equipment is selected after reviewing the item, route, and access. The estimate should identify any special handling or equipment included for your particular move.
Can you move just one specialty item?
A single-item move may be possible depending on the route, schedule, crew, and equipment. Send the details so the local team can check availability.
Can specialty items go into storage?
Ask about storage availability, conditions, duration, and access needs for the specific item. Storage must be confirmed separately in the written agreement.
Can you move specialty items long distance?
Qualifying long-distance routes can be reviewed. Provide the exact item details and both access locations so the team can plan protection, loading, and delivery.
What affects the price?
Weight, dimensions, fragility, disassembly, packing, stairs, carrying distance, equipment, route, and schedule can affect the quote. Written scope matters more than a generic price estimate.
Should I photograph the item before the move?
Yes. Clear photos of all sides, fragile details, and existing condition help the team evaluate the job. Keep your own condition record as well.
When should I book?
Contact us as soon as the item, addresses, and date are known. A specialty move may need extra review, and the date is not confirmed until the team accepts the booking.
